If you love sport, yet already need an antidote to soccer and its flagship World Cup, then let us remind you that football is not the only sport available for viewing pleasure.
Incidentally, the World Cup of Darts reaches its conclusion later today, but for the time being, before the world’s fastest-growing sport takes root in Kazakhstan, local people are celebrating the achievements of some of our fittest athletes, as two Kazakhstani triathletes picked up gold medals in the Asian Championship taking place in China, reports Qazinform.
Ramazan Ainegov represented his country in style by winning the Under-17s Super Sprint category, while his female compatriot Yasmina Buzurtanova matched him when she won the Under-15s equivalent.
Each triathlete posted respectable times in Xuzhou: Ramazan with his 00:25:49, and Yasmina crossing the line in 00:30:56, both stars now hoping to build on this success and represent their country in global events.
According to the Astana-based Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation, these results demonstrate the strength in depth of the nation’s talent in this endurance sport, and 14 June 2026 will be an opportunity to prove this further, as more domestic athletes are set to take part in the mixed relay events.
A few weeks ago, on May 30, Arlan Zhanabay picked up a bronze medal at the Asia Triathlon Cup, not only a success for himself, but for his homeland, as valuable points were added to the country’s ranking.
