The British-Spanish actor, Taz Skylar, has been announced as the latest big name to accept the coveted invitation to Comic Con Astana, with fans able to meet and greet him on the main stage in the Kazakh capital, as the event runs from 6-9 August this year.
He is best known for his Netflix role as Sanji, the Straw Hat Pirates’ chef, martial artist, and one of the main characters in the One Piece series based on Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga creation.
Taz Skylar has also appeared in Boiling Point, directed by Philip Barantin, as well as the action thriller Cleaner alongside Daisy Ridley and Clive Owen, but when not on camera, the extreme sports fan is a screenwriter, director, and producer.
This winner of a People’s Choice Award for his work on the short film Multi-Facial will be available for a Q&A session, offering also autograph and photo sessions for fans of comics, anime, gaming, and pop culture. People from all over the world are expected to attend.
Comic Con Astana 2026 will also feature a performance by South Korean K-Pop group Kandis, who, when competing in the televised song contest Silk Way Star, amazed thousands when they sang a Korean-language version of the Kazakh song Kesh Meni, going viral in the process.
