American rapper Kanye West, performing under the name Ye, will give his first concert in Kazakhstan, when he takes to the stage on August 14 at the Central Stadium in Almaty.
The artist’s manager confirmed the performance by posting an announcement on social media, and Kanye West’s official Instagram fan page also shared the news, where a poster with the caption “YE LIVE IN ALMATY” was posted.
The concert in the southern Kazakh city will be part of the Ye Live Concert Tour, which sees the musician make a long-awaited comeback to solo touring after a ten-year hiatus. The tour kicked off in spring 2026 in the USA, and the artist has already performed in the Netherlands, Georgia, and Albania, as well as several other European countries. In the upcoming months, the Atlanta-born star is also set to stop off in Spain, Portugal, and his native United States.
The organisers are calling the upcoming show the largest musical event in the history of Central Asia.
Ye ranks among the most influential artists of all time, a multiple Grammy Award winner, producer, designer, and entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has released a number of iconic albums that have had a significant impact on the development of hip-hop and contemporary popular music. His concerts are known not only for their musical content but also for their large-scale production, unexpected twists, and spectacular theatrics.

One user writes that she hopes to see a worthy opening act:

“And to everyone saying, ‘I wish they had brought Shakira instead,’ I’d like to remind you that this isn’t a restaurant menu. Kanye West is coming to Kazakhstan, and that alone is a huge event.
“Real fans understand that. Personally, I’m incredibly excited and still can’t believe I’ll get to see him here in Almaty.”
There was also a discussion about the prices of tickets with one user considering them too high:

“At 120,000–350,000 tenge, I think the tickets are overpriced rather than fairly priced. What do you think?”
On the contrary, others are convinced that the price is fully justified.
“Ticket prices for Kanye are more than reasonable, if you ask me. The cheapest ticket for his Istanbul concert was around 94,000 tenge, even though the stadium had a capacity of 118,000 people. Here, attendance will be limited to around 40,000. I’m sure his performance fee is enormous, not to mention the technical requirements for the show. Just imagine the enormous logistical challenge of transporting the entire production, including the giant stage sphere. So I think the price is more than justified. After all, you’re paying to see a tier-one artist.”
Another fan said she is eager to attend Ye’s concert again.
“This might be an unpopular opinion about Ye’s concerts, but I think the only people who wouldn’t want to travel to Almaty for this are those who have never experienced one of his shows before.
“I definitely want to see him perform again. I’m just waiting for enough confirmation to convince myself the concert is real—I felt exactly the same before the Istanbul show.

Ticket sales begin on July 20 at 12:00 p.m. on the Freedom Ticketon platform with prices ranging from 120,000 to 350,000 tenge. Those wanting to sit in the Gold section will need to splash out, paying 350,000 tenge. Also available are Silver (260,000 tenge) and Bronze (180,000 tenge) categories, as well as seats priced at 280,000, 250,000, 220,000, 180,000, 150,000, and 120,000 tenge. Each buyer may purchase no more than four tickets.
